GB/T 2832-1996 "Test Method for External Pressure Strength of Vitrified Clay Pipe" specifies the test equipment, sample requirements, procedures, result calculation, and report content for the radial external pressure strength of vitrified clay pipes at room temperature. It is applicable to the performance testing of vitrified clay pipes used in building drainage, agricultural irrigation, and other fields. The test requires a testing machine with a relative error of indication not exceeding ±1%, equipped with a triangular loading device (including wooden pressure plates of specific specifications and rubber strips with Shore A hardness of 55±5) and a metal straight ruler with a division value of 1 mm. By uniformly applying pressure to at least three whole pipe samples until failure, the maximum load is recorded, and the external pressure strength is calculated based on the effective length to ensure the safety of vitrified clay pipe applications.
