GB/T 1964-2023 specifies the method for determining the compressive strength of porous ceramics at room temperature, clearly defining core requirements such as specimen preparation, test procedures, and result calculation. It is applicable to the performance evaluation of various types of porous ceramics. The standard requires testing in an environment of 23°C ± 2°C and a relative humidity not exceeding 70%, where dried specimens of constant weight are loaded until failure. Compressive strength is calculated based on the maximum load and the bearing area. The test must be conducted using a compliant electronic universal testing machine (capable of automatically recording the force-displacement curve), paired with a micrometer or vernier caliper with a minimum division value of 0.02 mm, as well as rubber sheets of specified specifications. This provides a unified technical basis for quality control and engineering applications of porous ceramics.
