GB/T 228.3-2019
Metallic materials—Tensile testing—Part 3: Method of test at low temperature

This standard applies to the temperature range of -196°C to <10°C. It specifies the preparation of specimens, test requirements, determination of performance, and data processing for low-temperature tensile tests of metallic materials. It can measure key mechanical properties such as tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation after fracture, providing a basis for material applications in low-temperature environments. The test employs a Class 1 precision tensile testing machine, paired with a mechanical refrigeration or liquid nitrogen refrigeration low-temperature environmental chamber. It is equipped with a low-temperature-compatible extensometer, high-precision thermocouple temperature sensors, and a data acquisition system. The temperature control accuracy must be maintained within ±2°C to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test data under low-temperature conditions.
