This standard provides a conventional method for testing the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from resilient, textile, and laminate floor coverings. The core of the method involves placing a floor covering sample in a specialized emission test chamber with good sealing and temperature-humidity control under specific environmental conditions, allowing VOCs to be released. By collecting air from the chamber and analyzing the air samples using equipment such as a gas chromatograph, the VOC emission per unit area or the gaseous VOC concentration under specified conditions can be calculated. This standard is primarily used for evaluating new floor covering products before installation.
