GB/T 15825.5-2008
Sheet metal formability and test methods - Part 5: Bending test

This standard specifies two main test methods for evaluating the resistance of metal sheets (including ferrous and non-ferrous metals) and their coatings to cracking during forming. The first is the 180° bending test (applicable to sheets with a thickness ≤3mm), which uses a punch and die to bend the specimen to a specified angle; the second is the three-point bending test, which can measure the bending angle, bending force, and bending modulus of the material. The core instrument for performing these tests is an electronic universal testing machine, which must be equipped with specialized bending fixtures such as V-shaped dies, punches, and mandrels. This standard is part of a series of test methods for the formability of metal sheets, specifying the test procedures. The test results can be used to evaluate the forming limits and process adaptability of the materials.
