Test methods of wooden activated carbon--Determination of ash content

This standard specifies the core test method for determining the ash content in wood-based activated carbon. The principle involves incinerating the activated carbon sample in a high-temperature box-type resistance furnace (also known as a muffle furnace) at a specific temperature (typically 800±25°C) until a constant weight is achieved. The percentage of the residue mass relative to the original sample mass is defined as the ash content. To perform this test, in addition to the essential muffle furnace, auxiliary equipment such as an analytical balance capable of precise weighing to 0.0001g, high-temperature-resistant porcelain or platinum crucibles, and a desiccator are commonly required.
