GB/T 8291-2023
Rubber latex—Determination of coagulum content (sieve residue)

This standard provides a general method for determining the coagulum content in concentrated natural rubber latex and synthetic rubber latex. The method involves filtering a specified volume of latex sample through a metal wire sieve with a specified aperture (180 μm ± 15 μm). After rinsing the sieve with ammonia solution, the retained residue (i.e., coagulum) is transferred to an oven, dried to constant weight at a specified temperature, and weighed. According to the standard, it is not applicable to compounded latex or vulcanized latex.
