This standard is the method section within the acetylene black series standards that specifies the determination of its resistivity. The method employs a unique suspension principle: the sample is dispersed in an insulating liquid, dibutyl phthalate, and a stable suspension is formed with the aid of an electric stirrer. The resistivity of this suspension is measured to indirectly characterize the conductivity of acetylene black. Key testing instruments involved in the entire determination process mainly include a dedicated resistivity tester (with an accuracy of 0.01 Ω·m), an oven and analytical balance for sample pretreatment, as well as measuring cylinders for dispensing the dispersant. This method is suitable for evaluating the conductive properties of acetylene black, which is a key indicator for its product quality control.
