GB/T 3780.6-2016
Carbon black—Part 6: Determination of tinting strength

This standard specifies a unified method for determining the tinting strength of carbon black for rubber and pigment carbon black. The core procedure involves mixing and grinding the sample with white pigments such as zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in specific proportions to prepare an ink paste or color paste, followed by measuring its reflectance using a reflectometer (also known as a tinting strength tester). By comparing and calculating the results with measurements from industrial tinting reference carbon black or standard reference carbon black No. 3, the tinting strength value of the carbon black is quantitatively determined. This method serves as a key technical basis for evaluating the tinting performance of carbon black and controlling product quality.
