    Plastics - PVC resins - Determination of compacted apparent bulk density

    This standard specifies the method for determining the apparent bulk density after tamping of homopolymer and copolymer resins of vinyl chloride (PVC)-1. This method is used to measure the mass per unit volume of powdered resin after it has been subjected to specified vibration or tapping to achieve a densely packed state. The results are of significant reference value for material transportation, storage, and process control (such as batching and feeding)-2-5. The core specialized instrument for this test is the tap density tester. Such instruments typically consist of a vibration component with controlled vibration height and frequency, a calibrated cylinder for holding the sample, and a precision electronic balance to enable automated measurement-2-5. The determination of non-tapped apparent bulk density mentioned in the standard may refer to other relevant standards-1.
