GB/T 11546.1-2008
Plastic - Determination of creep behaviour - Part 1: Tensile creep

This standard specifies a unified method for determining the tensile creep properties of plastics -1-3-7. The method involves applying a sustained tensile load to standard plastic specimens under constant temperature and humidity conditions, measuring their deformation over time to evaluate the dimensional stability and mechanical behavior of the materials under long-term stress -1-3. It provides critical data for engineering design, material research, and quality control -1-3. The core instrument for conducting this test is a dedicated creep testing machine or high-precision mechanical testing equipment with a creep testing mode -6-10. Such equipment is typically equipped with multi-station capabilities, high- and low-temperature environmental chambers, and precise non-contact video extensometers or grating scales to accurately measure minute deformations over extended periods -2-6-10. Additionally, some dynamic mechanical analyzers (DMA) also have the functionality to measure the creep behavior of materials under constant stress -8.
