GB/T 2793-1995
Test method for nonvolatile content of adhesives

This standard specifies a general method for determining the non-volatile content (also known as solid content) of adhesives, applicable to various types of adhesives that exhibit significant mass loss upon heating. The core method is the loss-on-drying technique, which involves heating the adhesive sample at a specified temperature (typically 105°C) until constant mass is achieved. The percentage of remaining solid material is calculated based on the mass difference before and after heating. According to this standard, key testing instruments required to complete the test include an electric air-circulating drying oven for providing a stable heating environment, an analytical balance for precise sample weighing, and glass dishes or aluminum pans for drying and cooling the samples. This method serves as a fundamental and essential quality control basis for evaluating the solid content, concentration, and formulation stability of adhesives.
