Leather—Determination of abrasion resistance—Part 1: Taber method

This document specifies the test method for determining the abrasion resistance of leather using the Taber method. The test is performed using a specialized rotary Taber abrasion tester, the core principle of which involves subjecting a pair of specific abrasive wheels (also known as friction wheels) to continuous friction against the surface of a circular leather specimen rotating horizontally around a vertical axis under an adjustable constant load, simulating the wear process under actual use conditions.
