GB/T 9264-2012 "Paints and varnishes - Evaluation of sag resistance" is identical to the international standard and is applicable to the evaluation of sag resistance for all liquid paints. It replaces the previous version, which was only applicable to paints, and introduces new requirements for spray application test methods and pre-shear treatment for thixotropic paints. The test involves using a notched sag applicator to coat the test panel or applying the coating through airless or air-assisted spraying equipment, combined with film thickness measuring instruments. The evaluation is conducted under standard temperature and humidity conditions to determine the maximum wet film thickness without sag marks.
