    GB/T 5211.15-2014 "General methods of test for pigments and extenders - Part 15: Determination of oil absorption" specifies the method for determining the oil absorption of pigments and extenders, and is applicable to quality inspection for various relevant pigment products. In the test, the sample is accurately weighed using an analytical balance, and linseed oil is gradually added dropwise using a burette or pipette while continuously stirring until a uniform lump is formed. The oil absorption is calculated based on the ratio of the mass of oil consumed to the mass of the sample, providing a key technical parameter for the formulation design of pigments in products such as coatings and inks.
