Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems—Assessment of ,and acceptance criteria for,the adhesion/cohesion (fracture strength) of a coating—Part 1: Pull-off testing

GB/T 31586.1-2015 "Protective paint systems for corrosion protection of steel structures—Assessment of and acceptance criteria for adhesion/cohesion (fracture strength)—Part 1: Pull-off test" is applicable to the determination of adhesion of protective coatings on steel structures. Using a pull-off adhesion tester, the test dolly is bonded to the coating surface, and the tensile force at which the coating detaches is measured by uniform stretching to calculate the adhesion strength. It specifies the selection of adhesives, curing conditions, and environmental requirements for testing. The results of parallel tests must comply with precision regulations, providing a quantitative basis for the acceptance of coating adhesion.
