GB/T 38153.1-2019 specifies a unified method for preparing test prints of paste inks (suitable for lithographic printing, letterpress printing, etc.) in the laboratory using a printability tester (such as IGT type or prüfbau type). This standard aims to produce standard prints for various performance evaluations through a standardized process. It applies to testing on a variety of substrates, including paper, cardboard, and metal. The prints prepared according to this standard are primarily suitable for subsequent reflectance-based measurements, such as colorimetry, optical density, and lightfastness tests, as well as for evaluating the mechanical and chemical resistance properties of the ink or substrate. When implementing this standard, in addition to the core printability tester, an analytical balance (with a precision of 0.1 mg) is typically required for accurate ink measurement.
