A thermal imager, or infrared thermal imager, is a device that detects infrared radiation emitted by the surface of an object and converts it into a visual image of the temperature distribution. It is a non-contact thermometry instrument capable of converting invisible infrared energy into a visible thermal image and displaying temperature differences in different colors.

Principle

The principle of operation of thermal imagers is based on the physical phenomenon that all objects in nature with temperatures above absolute zero continuously emit infrared radiation. Its core processes include infrared radiation collection, signal conversion, and image generation.
