Wet Film Gauge Measurement Scale

The wet film gauge is a tool for measuring the thickness of wet paint films. It determines the thickness by using a toothed structure to contact the surface of the wet film and reading the scale difference between the positions where the tips and roots of the teeth make contact. It is used for on-site rapid monitoring of coating quality to ensure that the coating thickness meets process requirements, commonly employed in coating applications such as shipbuilding and steel structures.
Selection
The range of the wet film gauge should be selected to match the thickness range of the coating being measured. For conventional coatings, a range of 0-200 μm is recommended, while for thick slurry coatings, a range of 0-500 μm is suitable. Consider the tooth structure to ensure compatibility with curved surfaces of different substrates, and opt for stainless steel material for corrosion resistance. Verify the metrological calibration certificate to ensure the reliability of the measurement values.
