Ink Applicator Bar

The ink drawdown bar is used to create a uniform wet film by evenly scraping the metal rod over a coated substrate, simulating the printing process. Its function is to quickly prepare ink coating samples in the laboratory for observing properties such as leveling and hiding power. It is mainly applied in quality control and research and development testing within the printing industry.
Selection
Select the diameter of the rod based on the test substrate; 6mm is commonly used for paper, while 10mm is suitable for films. Choose the wire diameter according to the standard thickness, for example, 12μm corresponds to a 0.3mm wire diameter. Stainless steel material is appropriate for conventional inks, while special corrosive inks require chrome-plated material. Ensure the straightness error of the rod is less than 0.1mm, and the surface must be mirror-polished and free of scratches.
