Wet Film Inspection Card

The wet film gauge is a metal or plastic card with grooves of varying depths. It is used to determine the wet film thickness by pressing it into the wet coating and observing which groove first becomes coated with paint. This tool is employed for rapid on-site monitoring of coating application thickness to avoid applying layers that are too thin or too thick. It is commonly used in coating sites such as ships and steel structures.
Selection
When selecting, consider that the measurement range should cover the coating thickness specifications. Opt for stainless steel materials for durability, with clear and easy-to-read scales, and ensure the card is flat and resistant to deformation. Choose the corresponding specifications based on common coating thicknesses. For outdoor construction, select corrosion-resistant materials, and keep the card clean to avoid contaminating the coating.
