Contact thermocouple thermometers operate on the principle of the thermoelectric effect, where two different metal wires are connected to form a circuit. When the measuring end contacts an object, a potential difference is generated due to the temperature difference, and the temperature value is derived by measuring this potential. They are commonly used for direct contact measurement of the surface temperatures of solids and liquids, with frequent applications in industrial equipment temperature monitoring.
Selection
When selecting, consider that the temperature measurement range should match the measured object; the standard type covers -200℃ to 1300℃. Determine the sheath material based on the usage environment—stainless steel or ceramic for corrosive environments. Choose the terminal box type and size according to installation requirements. Verify compatibility between the thermocouple type and the display instrument. For general applications, select Type K; for high-temperature use, choose Type S.
