Immersion ZAHN Viscosity Cup

The immersion Zahn viscometer measures viscosity by converting the time it takes for a fixed volume of fluid to flow out through a standard aperture at the bottom of the cup. It is used for rapid on-site testing of fluids such as paints and inks. During operation, the cup is immersed in the sample and then lifted vertically to measure the outflow time.
Selection
When selecting, consider matching the cup number to the viscosity range of the material being tested, with five common cup numbers corresponding to different orifice sizes. Choose stainless steel or plastic material based on the sample characteristics. A thermometer and stopwatch are required to complete the measurement process.
