Tinplate for coating evaluation

Coating test tinplate involves applying the test coating onto tin-plated steel sheets and examining properties such as coating adhesion and corrosion resistance after drying and curing. This test simulates the actual usage conditions of metal packaging materials and is used to evaluate the protective performance and process adaptability of coatings on metal containers such as food cans and chemical barrels.
Selection
For selecting coated tinplate for testing, it is necessary to confirm that the tin coating weight of the substrate meets the testing standards and that the surface is free from scratches and oxidation. Match the hardness specification of the tinplate according to the type of coating, and select the surface treatment process based on the testing requirements, such as resistance to boiling or acid/alkali exposure. Refer to the industry standard thickness range of 0.18–0.25 mm to ensure compatibility with the coating equipment on the production line.
