Karl Fischer HygroMeter

The Karl Fischer moisture analyzer is based on the quantitative reaction of iodine with sulfur dioxide in a methanol solution in the presence of water, with the titration endpoint detected electrochemically. It is used to measure trace moisture content in solids, liquids, and gases, and is applied in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries for quality control of raw materials and finished products.
Selection
When selecting, consider matching the sample properties with the reagent type; corrosive samples require specialized electrolytic cells. Determine whether to use the volumetric or coulometric method based on precision requirements, with the coulometric method suitable for trace moisture detection. Evaluate the instrument’s sealing and drift values, as environmental humidity affects measurement stability. Automatic titration functionality reduces operational errors.
