SpectroPhotoMeter ColoriMeter GlossMeter

The spectrophotometric color difference gloss meter measures the color and gloss of an object's surface through spectral analysis. Its principle involves illuminating the sample with a light source, after which the sensor captures the reflected light and decomposes it into spectral data to calculate chromaticity values and gloss. Its function is to quantitatively detect the color consistency and surface gloss of products such as paints and plastics. It is applied in color difference control of printed materials, verification of ink formulations, and quality assessment of paper coatings.
Selection
When selecting, consider matching the measurement aperture to the sample size. The colorimeter must include CIE Lab and CMC formulas. The gloss meter is categorized by angles (20°/60°/85°) to accommodate surfaces with different gloss levels. Verify the instrument's repeatability error, with color difference ΔE ≤ 0.1 and gloss deviation within ±1 GU. Confirm compliance with ASTM D2244/D523 standards, and ensure the accompanying software can export test reports. Portable models are suitable for on-site testing, while benchtop models are ideal for fixed laboratory use.
