Wet Film Applicator with cardstock

Wet film gauge cards are coating testing tools used to quickly determine the application thickness of coatings and inks by scraping a wet film onto a substrate through a specific thickness gap. During operation, the card is placed beneath the wet film gauge. After scraping, the card is removed, and the wet film thickness is measured to adjust formulations or application parameters.
Selection
When selecting, ensure the card thickness matches the target wet film thickness. The material should be flat and stiff to avoid deformation, with a smooth surface that does not adhere to the coating. Prioritize solvent-resistant card paper to prevent dissolution, and ensure the size fully covers the working area of the wet film applicator to guarantee accurate and reliable thickness measurement.

Wet film thickness gauge measures the wet film thickness of varnish.
The wet film thickness gauge is a mechanical tool used to measure the thickness of liquid varnish coatings. It operates by rolling the gauge so that the tips of its teeth contact the substrate and leave marks. The thickness value is then obtained by the operator reading the scale of the first tooth that becomes coated with the varnish.

Application of Two-Step Method with Pre-Coating and Fine-Coating in Eliminating Bubble Defects for Dual-Blade Coater
The dual-blade coater employs a two-step method of pre-coating and precision coating to eliminate bubble defects during the coating process.
