Paint-specific Gloss Meter

The dedicated gloss meter for coatings evaluates gloss by measuring the object's surface ability to reflect light. A light source illuminates the sample at a fixed angle, and the receiver detects the intensity of the reflected light, with higher values indicating a shinier surface. It is used for detecting surface effects after coating application, quality control, and batch consistency comparison.
Selection
Select the corresponding angle instrument based on the common gloss range of the coating to be tested: 20° for high gloss, 60° for semi-gloss, and 85° for matte. Verify the instrument's metrology certification and calibration records, and check whether the probe contact surface is equipped with a protective cover. Compare the measurement repeatability across different brands, considering adaptability to on-site environments and the clarity of the operation interface.
