Composite Magnetic Coating Thickness Gauge

The composite magnetic coating thickness gauge measures the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on magnetic substrates through the principle of magnetic induction. The probe generates a magnetic field, and variations in coating thickness cause changes in magnetic flux, which the instrument calculates and displays as a numerical value. It is used to detect the thickness of coatings such as paint, plating, and plastic on steel surfaces, and finds applications in the automotive manufacturing and metal processing industries.
Selection
When selecting, consider the shape and curvature of the substrate: use a single probe for flat surfaces and a dual-probe model for curved surfaces. Choose the measurement range based on the coating thickness: 0–5 mm for routine applications, while high-resolution models are required for ultrathin coatings. Check the calibration certificate and error range; portable and shock-resistant designs are needed for on-site measurements. If electromagnetic interference is present in the environment, a probe with shielding functionality is required.
