Overview
The Defelsko PRBFNDS-D is a thickness gauge Probe, model 6000 FNDS Cabled Probe, designed for composite coating systems. It measures paints and zinc layer thickness simultaneously and displays a single reading for Coating thickness detection on metal substrates such as galvanized steel.
Features
1. Simultaneous measurement of paints and zinc layer thickness in composite coating systems, displaying a single reading.
2. Using magnetic Induction and eddy Current principle, automatic identification of ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.
3. Suitable for one-handed operation, compact design.
4. High Accuracy measurement with small error range.
5. Compatible with PosiTector host, requires a simple update.
Principle
The Probe uses the principle of magnetic Induction to measure the total thickness of the lacquer/zinc layer on the ferrous substrate, and the principle of eddy Current to measure the thickness of the lacquer layer on the non-ferrous zinc layer. The thickness of the zinc layer is calculated by subtracting the thickness of the lacquer layer from the total thickness, enabling simultaneous detection of composite coatings.
Applications
Composite coating system measurement, galvanized steel coating inspection, industrial anti-corrosion coating evaluation
Standards
Calibrated certificate
Steps
1. Connect the Probe to a compatible PosiTector host.
2. Make sure the host serial number is greater than 700000 or supports SmartLink.
3. Perform a simple thickness gauge update.
4. Align the Probe to the measurement surface and take a reading.
Notice
• Only for PosiTector hosts with serial numbers greater than 700000 or new Positector SmartLink.
• Thickness gauge should be updated before measurement.
Make sure the substrate is ferrous or non-ferrous metal such as steel or aluminum.
• Accuracy is affected by fixed values and reading percentages, with attention to the error range.
