Paint hiding power paper is a black-and-white contrast test card, which utilizes the difference between black and white backgrounds to observe the hiding ability of coatings. After evenly applying the coating, the minimum coating thickness required to conceal the black-white boundary is determined visually or with instruments, used to evaluate the hiding performance of coatings and control construction costs. It is widely applied in quality inspection and production process control of paints and inks.

Selection

When selecting, consider paper flatness, color difference stability in black and white areas, ink absorption, and resistance to penetration. Match the paper basis weight according to the type of coating being tested: use solvent-resistant coated paper for solvent-based coatings and high-density paper substrates for water-based coatings. Note that the paper whiteness should be above 85%, and the black area density should be greater than 1.5. Prioritize professionally calibrated test paper for laboratory testing, while economical cardboard can be used on the production site.
