Portable Gloss Tester

The handheld gloss meter projects light onto the sample surface at a fixed angle and measures the ratio of the specularly reflected light intensity to the reflectance of a standard reference plate. It is used for on-site rapid inspection of surface gloss uniformity in materials such as coatings and plastics. During operation, it must be kept flush against the measured surface to avoid interference from ambient light.
Selection
When selecting, focus on the measurement angle matching industry standards: use a 20° angle for high-gloss surfaces and an 85° angle for matte surfaces.
