Surface Cross-Cut Cutter

The cross-cut tester cuts a grid on the coating surface with its blades. After peeling with tape, the area of coating detachment is observed to assess the adhesion between the coating and the substrate. It is used for adhesion testing of paints and inks to determine the strength of the coating.
Selection
When selecting, consider the coating thickness to match the blade spacing, ensure the metal blade provides cutting penetration, and make sure the handle is ergonomically designed for a comfortable grip. The hardness of the substrate determines the blade material: stainless steel is suitable for regular surfaces, while carbon steel is used for hard materials.
