Micro GlossMeter

The micro glossmeter illuminates the sample surface with a light source at a fixed angle, and the detector receives the intensity of the specularly reflected light, converting it into gloss units. It is used to quantify the specular reflection capability of materials such as paper, plastics, and paint. It enables rapid evaluation of surface smoothness and coating uniformity in both production line quality control and laboratory settings.
Selection
Select the appropriate measurement angle based on the gloss range of the material being tested: use a 20° angle for high-gloss surfaces, a 60° angle for ordinary materials, and an 85° angle for low-gloss surfaces. Consider the portability and battery life of the instrument, and use a standard calibration plate during calibration. When measuring curved surfaces, pay attention to the probe's fit, and perform regular interim checks of the instrument.
