Selection
When selecting a coating applicator rod, factors such as substrate flatness and coating viscosity must be considered, with deeper groove specifications chosen for high-viscosity coatings. Match the groove depth of the rod to the target wet film thickness, typically within a range of 25–500 microns. Pay attention to the corrosion resistance of the rod material; stainless steel is suitable for most systems.
