Metallic ColoriMeter

Metal colorimeters measure the color data of special-effect coatings such as metallic paints and pearlescent paints using a multi-angle optical system. They employ a 45° annular illumination design with multiple receiving angles to capture the color-flop effect. These instruments are widely used in industries such as automotive painting and cosmetic packaging for online color difference monitoring and incoming material inspection.
Selection
When selecting, pay attention to the measurement aperture matching the curvature of the sample, verify the instrument's ability to analyze the sparkle index of metallic pigments, and validate the repeatability of measurements at different angles. It must be equipped with temperature and humidity compensation functions to ensure data stability in fluctuating environments such as spray booths.
