Paint Film Thickness Gauge for Non-magnetic Substrates

The non-magnetic substrate paint film thickness gauge operates on the eddy current induction principle. The probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field, which induces eddy currents on the surface of non-ferrous metal substrates (such as aluminum or copper). The thickness of the paint film is calculated by measuring changes in the eddy currents. It is used to inspect the thickness of surface coatings such as spray painting or anodizing, ensuring that coating quality meets standards.
Selection
When selecting, it is necessary to match the substrate type (aluminum, stainless steel, etc.), ensure the measurement range covers common coating thicknesses, and maintain accuracy within ±3%. Consider the probe size to suit the measurement area, and the instrument must include temperature compensation. A calibration certificate and a rugged housing are essential, and the operation interface should be simple and easy to read.
