Oil ColoriMeter

The oil colorimeter measures the absorption of light at specific wavelengths by the oil sample using a photoelectric sensor, converting the color into standardized numerical values. It is used to detect the color grade of petroleum products such as lubricating oil and fuel oil, reflecting the degree of oxidation or contamination of the oil. It provides a basis for judging color consistency in oil production, storage, transportation, and quality monitoring.
Selection
When selecting, consider that the measurement range should cover the color range of the oil samples to be tested and comply with industry standard methods such as ASTM D1500. Key parameters include the stability of the optical system and repeatability accuracy, and the sample cell must be resistant to oil corrosion. Choose between portable or benchtop models based on the usage scenario, and ensure the inclusion of standard color charts to guarantee traceability of measurements.
