Overview
The American RDS 3# 3/8 wire-wound coating rod is designed for preparing wet film coatings of approximately 7 micrometers. This product is suitable for precise film thickness control in the coatings, inks, and most fluid industries. It features a stainless steel construction, a diameter of 9.52mm, a total length of 400mm, and a coating width of 300mm.
Features
1. Precise control of wet film thickness to about 7 micrometers;
2. Made of stainless steel for strong durability;
3. Wire-wound production process with a wire diameter of only 0.08mm, equivalent to the fineness of a hair strand;
4. Provides a coating width of 300mm for convenient operation;
5. Available in different diameters and process models to meet diverse needs.
Principle
The RDS Line 3 wire-wound rod applicator features a wire-winding design, where extremely fine steel wires (0.08 mm in diameter) are wound around the rod surface. As the applicator rod moves across the substrate, the gaps between the wires control the amount of coating or ink applied, resulting in a uniform wet film layer. The wet film thickness is determined by the wire diameter and winding process, ensuring precise and consistent film thickness.
Applications
Paints, inks, fluids industry
Steps
1. Prepare the substrate and coating for application;
2. Place the coating rod at one end of the substrate;
3. Apply even pressure and move the coating rod along a straight line;
4. Clean the coating rod promptly after completing the coating process.
Notice
• The wire diameter is only 0.08mm, which is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye. It is recommended to observe with a magnifying glass.
• Avoid misuse or impact during use and cleaning to prevent wire breakage.
• When selecting a coating rod, consider the hardness of the substrate and operating habits to reduce wear.
• Regularly inspect the condition of the coating rod to ensure coating accuracy.
