Overview
RDS #14 3/8" coating rod is a wire-wound applicator with a wet film thickness of 32 microns, a coating width of 300 mm, and a total length of 400 mm, featuring 50 mm handles at both ends. It is suitable for flat and easily curled or warped substrates such as paper and foil, ensuring uniform wet film coating.
Features
1. The wet film thickness is precisely 32 micrometers.
2. The coating width reaches 300mm, offering a wide operating range.
3. Features 50mm handles on both ends for easy handheld operation.
4. Made of stainless steel, durable and easy to clean.
5. Suitable for various substrates, including materials prone to curling.
6. The RDS series offers 49 models ranging from 2 to 95, meeting different thickness requirements.
Principle
Through a wire-wound design with a steel wire diameter of 0.36 mm, a uniform wet film thickness is formed during the coating process. When coating, the wire-wound rod rolls over the substrate, and the gaps between the steel wires control the amount of coating, ensuring consistent wet film thickness.
Applications
Coating of substrates prone to curling and bulging, such as paper and foil
Steps
1. Select the appropriate coating rod model based on the desired wet film thickness.
2. Use a wet film calculator to compute the thickness (optional).
3. Hold the handles at both ends and place the coating rod on the substrate.
4. Roll the coating rod evenly to perform the coating operation.
5. Clean the coating rod after completion.
Notice
• Confirm the wet film thickness requirement before selecting the coating rod.
• Maintain uniform pressure during operation to avoid uneven coating.
• Clean promptly after use to prevent residue buildup.
• Avoid collisions during storage to protect the wire-wound structure.
