Overview
American RDS #17 Mayer Rods is made of 303 stainless steel, which has wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It is mainly used for Coating, inks, paints and other industries to prepare films of specific wet film thickness for detecting hiding power, film Gloss and preparatory samples. RDS 17 #1/4 "wide-wound Applicator rod wet film thickness is 38.9 microns, which belongs to wide-wound rod coating.
Features
1. Made of 303 stainless steel, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant
2.Accurate wet film thickness of 38.9 microns
3. Provide wire-wound structural design
4. The application width is 300mm, easy to operate
5. Total length 400mm, hand width 50mm, ergonomic
Principle
Mayer Rods unifies the Spreader liquid material on the surface of the substrate through a wire-wound structure to form a wet-film of a specific thickness. When used, the coating rod is rolled or scraped on the substrate, and the wire-wound gap controls the Coat Weight to achieve a wet film thickness of 38.9 microns. Preparative.
Applications
Coatings, inks, paints
Steps
1. Spreader substrate and liquid material
2. Place the coating rod at one end of the substrate
3. Apply pressure evenly and move the coating rod to cover the entire application width
4. Spreader check wet film thickness uniformity
5. Clean coating rod for next use
Notice
• Make sure the coating rod is clean and free of residue before use
• Spreaders maintain uniform pressure and speed
• Avoid scratching the wire-wound with hard objects to prevent damage
• Wash and dry after use
• Only for specified industries and materials
