Overview
American RDS #13 scraper is a wire-wound coating rod, model 13 #1/4, made of 303 stainless steel, with wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Mainly used for preparing films of specific wet film thickness in Coating, inks, paints and other industries, for detecting hiding power, film Gloss and preparatory prototyping applications.
Features
1. Made of 303 stainless steel, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant
2.Accurate wet film thickness of 29.7 microns
3. Wire-wound design, Spreader evenly
4. Total length 400mm, application width 300mm, easy to operate
5. Diameter 6.35mm, steel wire diameter 0.33mm, precision structure
Principle
RDS #13 Mayer Rods uses a wire-wound design to control the Coating Flow rate as the substrate surface rolls, resulting in a uniform wet-film thickness of 29.7 microns. This design ensures consistent Spreader thickness for accurate film preparation and inspection.
Applications
Coatings, inks, paints
Steps
1. Coating evenly on one end of the substrate
2. Hold both ends of the scraper and place it on the Coating at an appropriate angle
3. Push the scraper forward with even force
4. Spreader, check the wet film thickness and mass
5. Clean the scraper for next use
Notice
• Make sure the scraper is clean and free of residue before use
• Maintain uniform thrust and angle during operation
• Avoid collision between the scraper and hard objects to prevent deformation of the steel wire
• Wash in time after use to prevent Coating curing
Store in a drying environment to avoid corrosion
