Overview
The AMITTARI AS-120F sponge hardness gauge is suitable for measuring the Hardness of soft foam materials and polyurethane foam products. Unlike the Miscellaneous hardness gauge, the instrument directly contacts the presser foot with the sample during measurement and uses its own weight as the force load.

Principle
When the AS-120F sponge hardness gauge is measured, the presser foot is directly in contact with the sample, and its own weight is used as the force measurement load. Hardness value is automatically displayed by the end face of the presser in close contact with the sample for 1 to 2 seconds.

Steps
Specimen preparation: minimum thickness 10mm, if thinner can be superimposed up to three layers to ensure good contact; test point from the edge of at least 50mm; smooth surface, uniform thickness, flat, no bubbles, no mechanical damage and impurities.
2. Tap the multi-function button to turn on the power.
3. MAX Maximum function: press the "MAX" key to display MAX Maximum, and then press Cancel; place the hardness gauge vertically on the sample, the end face of the crimping pin is in close contact for 1 to 2 seconds, and the LCD shows MAX Maximum; press the "ZERO" key for the next measurement, or press the "MAX" key to clear after repeability.
4. Instantaneous value measurement: do not press the "MAX" key, the display shows the instantaneous value; keep the hardness gauge still, and read at the required time interval, the interval is less than 1 second.
5. Average function and measurement number settings: Press the "N/AVE" key to set the number of measurements (up to 9 times), press the "ZERO" or "MAX" key to return to the measurement state; Hardness and number are displayed after the test, and the average value is displayed when the set number of times is reached; You can press the "ZERO" key to repeability measurement.
Notice
The minimum thickness of the sample is 10mm. If it is thinner, up to three layers can be laminated to ensure good contact between the layers.
* The test point should be at least 50mm away from the edge of the specimen.
* The surface of the sample should be smooth, uniform thickness, flat, no bubbles, no mechanical damage and impurities.
* The hardness gauge should not exceed the edge of the surface to be measured.
* Keep the hardness gauge still during measurement, and the reading interval should be less than 1 second.
* Before the next measurement, you can press the "ZERO" key or press the "MAX" key to clear.
* The average calculation is divided into MAX Maximum and random values. When doing MAX Maximum average calculation, the screen needs to display "MAX" and "N" at the same time.
