Overview
The Defelsko PRBFRS-D is a thickness gauge Probe of the 6000 FRS Cabled Probe series designed for the measurement of nonconductive Coating thickness on ferrous substrates. The Probe features a right angle design for low headroom area measurement, waterproof sealing, and supports underwater applications. Measurement range is 0 to 60 mils (0 to 1500 μm).

Principle
The Probe works based on the principle of magnetic Induction and transmits the signal to the host for processing and display by detecting changes in the nonconductive Coating thickness on ferrous substrates such as steel and cast iron. The accuracy is calculated by a combination of fixed values and reading percentages, ensuring Reliability of measurement results.

Steps
1. Connect the Probe to a compatible PosiTector host
2. Turn on the host power and select the corresponding Measurement mode
3. Place the Probe vertically on the surface of the coating under test
4. Apply pressure steadily and wait for the reading to stabilize
5. Record or save measurement data
6. Clean Probes After Use and Store Properly

• Ensure that the Probe is compatible with the host to avoid mismatch use
• Keep Probe vertical and stable during measurement to prevent tilt from affecting accuracy
• Avoid long-term use in extreme temperatures or corrosion environments
• Regularly check Probe sealing to prevent water damage
• The calibrated certificate needs to be verified periodically to ensure measurement accuracy
• Not suitable for non-ferrous substrate measurement, only for ferrous materials
