Overview
The Defelsko FHXS Xtreme ™ is a thickness gauge Probe designed for the measurement of nonconductive coating thickness on steel substrates. It uses braided cables and aluminum oxide abrasion-resistant contact surfaces to withstand hot or rough surfaces up to 250 ° C (500 ° F) for harsh industrial environments.
Features
1. High-temperature and wear-resistant design: Probe with aluminum oxide wear-resistant contact surface and braided cable can withstand hot surfaces up to 250 ° C (500 ° F), suitable for rough surface measurement.
2. Large measurement range: the measurement range can reach 0~ 400 mils (0~ 10000 μm), suitable for thicker coatings.
3. High compatibility: Compatible with PosiTector hosts with serial numbers greater than 700000 and the new Positector SmartLink.
4. Reliable accuracy: The accuracy is calculated by adding a fixed value to the percentage of the reading, specifically + (0.1 mils + 3%) or + (2 um + 3%).
Principle
The FHXS Xtreme ™ Probe works on the principle of magnetic induction. When the Probe contacts a nonconductive coating on a steel (ferromagnetic) substrate, the magnetic circuit within the Probe changes. By measuring this change in magnetic flux, the instrument can accurately calculate the film thickness of the nonconductive coating.
Applications
Suitable for fields requiring measurement of nonconductive coating thickness on steel substrates, especially in harsh industrial environments with high temperatures or rough surfaces.
Standards
No specific standards were mentioned in the data.
Steps
1. Ensure that the Probe is properly connected to a compatible PosiTector host (serial number greater than 700000) or Positector SmartLink.
2. Before measurement, calibrate the instrument on a standard sheet of known Film thickness according to the Operation Manual.
3. Press the Probe's wear-resistant contact surface vertically and stably on the clean surface of the coating under test.
4. Read the coating thickness measurement displayed on the host screen.
Notice
• Ensure that the Probe is compatible with the host, only for PosiTector hosts with serial numbers greater than 700000 or the new Positector SmartLink.
• Before measurement, calibrate to ensure measurement accuracy.
Probe is designed to withstand high temperatures, but do not exceed its nominal 250 ° C (500 ° F) limit temperature.
• Keep the Probe perpendicular to the measured surface and in stable contact during measurement.
• Accuracy is expressed as "a fixed value plus a percentage of the reading", please refer to the product specification for specific values.
