Overview
The Defelsko PRBFNTS-D is a thickness gauge Probe, a FNTS model, suitable for large-scale Coating thickness measurement of ferrous/non-ferrous metal substrates. The Probe has a split design, Measurement range up to 0~ 250 mils (0~ 6 mm), accuracy is +/- (0.5 mils + 1%) 0~ 100 mils and +/- (0.5 mils + 3%) > 100 mils, suitable for PosiTector host.
Features
1. Wide range measurement capability, suitable for thick coatings such as epoxy resin, rubber, cement, expansion fire-proof coatings, etc
2. Adopt split conventional Probe design, constant pressure and waterproof sealing
3. Calculated accuracy based on fixed value plus percentage of reading to ensure measurement Reliability
4. Adapted to PosiTector series host, easy to operate
Principle
The Probe works based on the principle of magnetic Induction and eddy Current and automatically identifies ferrous or non-ferrous metal substrates. The thickness of the nonconductive coating is measured by contact with the coating by the Probe, with accuracy determined by a combination of a fixed value and a reading percentage.
Applications
Thick coating measurement, epoxy resin, rubber, cement, expansion fire-proof coatings
Standards
Calibrated certificate
Steps
1. Connect the Probe to a compatible PosiTector host
2. Select the appropriate Measurement mode (Iron/Non-Iron Automatic Identification)
3. Place Probe vertically on the coating surface
4. Read the thickness value displayed by the host
5. As needed, repeability measurement to ensure accuracy
Notice
• Ensure that the Probe is compatible with the host and adapts to the PosiTector series
• Keep Probe perpendicular to the surface during measurement
• Avoid long-term use in extreme temperatures or humid environments
• Periodically calibrate to maintain accuracy, refer to the calibrated certificate
Only for measurement of thickness of nonconductive coatings on metal substrates
