Overview
The Defelsko PRBFNGS-D is a thickness gauge Probe of the FNGS model for the measurement of very thick coatings on all metals, especially for hull coatings and thick expansion coatings. The Probe uses magnetic Induction and eddy current principles for measurement of thicknesses up to 63.5mm. High Accuracy and Durability, compatible with PosiTector hosts.

Principle
The Probe is based on magnetic Induction and eddy current principles for measurement. Coating thickness measurement on ferrous substrates is based on magnetic Induction principle, while eddy current principle is used for Coating thickness measurement on non-ferrous metal substrates. The Probe automatically identifies the substrate type and calculates Coating thickness with accuracy consisting of a fixed value and a percentage of the reading.

Steps
1. Ensure that the Probe is compatible with the PosiTector host (serial number greater than 700000)
2. Connect the Probe to the host
3. Probe placed on the measurement surface
4. Read the displayed thickness data
5. Use the handle for one-handed operation

- Minimum surface area is 254x254mm
- Minimum substrate thickness of 5mm
- accuracy is a fixed value plus a percentage of the reading, specifically +/- (0.01 inches + 3%) or +/- (0.2mm + 3%)
