Overview
TQC SP0015 Hardness pen is mainly used for inspection of paint film Hardness and scratch resistance performance. The test pen can be easily and quickly measured on flat or curved paint films. It is widely used in Coatings, material paints, plastics and other related products, especially for hardness testing of paint films on pipes and cans.
Features
1. Using anodic oxidation aluminum and tungsten carbide material, no maintenance and good anti-corrosion performance.
2. Equipped with three probes (φ 1mm, φ 0.75mm, φ 0.50mm) and wheel handle, high measurement applicability and accuracy.
Three types of pressure springs (black 0-3N, blue 0-10N, red 0-30N) are available to meet different testing requirements.

Principle
The SP0015 Hardness pen applies controlled pressure on the surface of the paint film through probes of different diameters, and uses springs to provide accurate force values to evaluate the Hardness and scratch resistance of the paint film. The wheeled handle design facilitates stable operation on flat and curved surfaces.

Steps
Select the appropriate diameter probe (φ 1mm, φ 0.75mm or φ 0.50mm) to install on the test pen.
2. Select the pressure spring (black, blue, or red) as required and ensure proper installation.
3. Place the test pen vertically on the surface of the paint film and use the wheeled handle to operate stably.
4. Apply pressure until the spring reaches the set force value and observe whether the paint film is scratched.
5. Record Test Results and Evaluate Film Hardness.
Notice
• Check whether the probe and spring are in good condition before use to avoid damage.
• Ensure that the test surface is clean and drying so as not to affect the measurement accuracy.
• Keep the test pen vertical during operation to avoid data deviation caused by tilt.
• Select the appropriate spring and probe combination according to the test criteria.
• Regularly clean and maintain the test pen to extend its service life.
