Overview
The PosiTector 6000 FNDS1 is a Defelsko brand Coating thickness gauge with the FNDS Probe for simultaneous measurement of paints and zinc layer thickness in composite coating systems, with a single reading. The instrument is suitable for paints or powder coating systems on galvanized steel and provides better corrosion protection than individual protection systems.

Principle
In composite mode, the PosiTector 6000 FNDS uses both magnetic Induction and eddy current for measurement. The magnetic Induction principle is used to measure the total thickness of the paint/zinc layer on an iron substrate, while the eddy Current principle is used to measure the thickness of the paint layer on a non-ferrous zinc layer. The zinc layer thickness is calculated by subtracting the paint layer thickness from the total thickness of the paint/zinc layer.

Steps
1. Install 3 AAA alkaline batteries
2. Select Measurement mode (composite mode or traditional dual function mode)
3. Probe placed on the surface of the coating to be tested for measurement
4. Read the thickness value on the display
5. Connect the computer through the USB interface and use the supporting software to manage the data
