Overview
PosiTest ® PC is a non-contact uncured powder Thickness Gauge that uses ultrasonic technology to measure uncured powder coatings to predict curing thickness. The device is a dedicated stand-alone unit, ready to use, for moving lines and swinging parts. Measurement speed is increased by 4 times, and most powders do not require calibrating adjustments.
Features
1. Special independent device, ready to use out of the box.
2. Measurement speed increased by 4 times, suitable for moving lines and swinging parts.
3. Easy-to-read digital display with simple icon-based menus.
4. Handheld, battery powered, ergonomic and lightweight.
5. Most powders do not need to be calibrated.
6. The target mesh displays both the distance to the part and the alignment, making measurement easy.
7. The RESET function can immediately restore the factory settings.
8. Durable design for harsh powder coatings environments, including hard-shell portables and replaceable Screen Protector Sensors.
9. Improved Sensor technology for measurement of tubules, odd shapes and moving parts.
10. Easy 1 point and 2 point calibrating options to improve accuracy of unusual powders or substrates.
11. No cable interference, mil/micron switchable, high contrast ratio color display.
12. Adjustable display luminance, turn on and off sound, use alkaline battery or rechargeable battery.
13. Store 999 readings, which can be downloaded to the PosiSoft Desktop software.
14. Scan mode continuous measurement, suitable for analyzing large areas.
15. USB keyboard mode emulates keystrokes, easily transferring readings to a PC or PLC.
16. The USB port connects to the PC and provides continuous power supply. Software updates keep the instrument up to date.
Principle
The thickness gauge uses non-contact ultrasonic technology to measure the thickness of uncured powder coatings by transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals, so as to predict the thickness after curing. There is no need to physically contact the powder surface during the measurement process to avoid interference.
Applications
Powder coatings, moving lines, swing parts, small tubes, odd-shaped parts, large areas
Steps
1. Turn on the power supply of the device.
2. Use the target grid to align the measurement area.
3. Choose a one-point calibrated or two-point calibrated mode as needed (most powders do not need to be calibrated).
4. Start measurement, the device automatically performs non-contact ultrasonic measurement.
5. Read the thickness data on the display screen.
6. Optional scan mode for continuous measurement.
7. Store readings or transfer data via USB interface.
8. Use the RESET function to restore factory settings (if necessary).
Notice
Make sure the minimum measurement surface is 2mm.
- Keep the distance between the device and the powder surface about 19mm during measurement.
- Avoid use in extreme environments (e.g. high temperature, high humidity) to prevent affecting accuracy.
- Regularly check the battery level and use alkaline or rechargeable batteries.
- Confirm the powder type before calibrating, unusual powders or substrates need to be calibrated.
When storing data, be careful not to exceed the 999 reading limit.
- Clean the equipment after use to avoid the accumulation of solvents, acids, oils, water and dust.
Update software to maintain instrument performance.
